Indian wedding save-the-date wording with a website link
An Indian wedding save-the-date should name the couple, city and celebration dates, then give guests one clear next step. Add the wedding website only when the details shown there are ready for that recipient. Use the templates below for an early date announcement, a multi-day celebration or a guest-specific link.

A save-the-date is not the full invitation. Its job is to protect the dates in a guest’s calendar while venues, timings and smaller-function lists may still be taking shape. The wording should make that limited job obvious, especially when the wedding runs across several days but not every guest will attend every function.
What should an Indian wedding save-the-date include?
Keep the first message to five facts: the couple’s names, the city, the first and last celebration dates, whether a formal invitation will follow, and one place to check confirmed information. If only the ceremony or reception date is settled, name that function instead of presenting an uncertain weekend as final.
Use this simple structure:
Please save the dates for [name] and [name]’s wedding celebrations in [city], from [first day, date] to [last day, date]. A formal invitation with your event details will follow. Confirmed information will be available at [wedding website].
Do not include a complete Mehendi-to-reception schedule unless those functions and their invited lists are confirmed. A broad programme can look like an invitation to every event, even when the family meant only to help people reserve travel dates.
Which save-the-date wording can you copy?
For a short family message:
With happiness from both our families, please save [date or dates] for the wedding of [name] and [name] in [city]. We will share the formal invitation and event details soon. [website link]
For a multi-day celebration where individual schedules will follow:
Please keep [first date] to [last date] free for [name] and [name]’s wedding celebrations in [city]. Your invitation will confirm the functions planned for you. We will keep the latest confirmed information here: [website link]
For a reception-only announcement:
Save the date for [name] and [name]’s wedding reception on [day, date] in [city]. Venue and timing details will follow. [website link]
Replace every bracket before sending. Keep registry wording, dress notes and transport instructions out of this first announcement; they can appear with the relevant event once confirmed.
When should the wedding website link be included?
Include the link when the page helps the recipient rather than showing unfinished or unrelated information. Vowframes gives each wedding its own wedding link, and that link can be shared by WhatsApp, SMS or email. Each guest opens a link tied to them, while the same wedding URL can show only the functions that person is invited to.
That makes the audience decision important. If invited lists are still being discussed, a dates-only message may be clearer than sending a guest-linked page too early. Once a person’s functions are confirmed, the website can carry the current venue and timing for each event on their invitation.
Do not write “full details on the website” when only the dates are ready. Say “confirmed information” or “details will be added” so the message matches what the guest will actually find.
What should you check before sending the save-the-date?
First, check that the written dates match the site and include the correct year. Then open the exact link being sent. A valid wedding link belonging to the wrong guest is still the wrong invitation.
Test two contrasting recipients when the function lists differ: a relative expected across several days and a colleague invited to the reception. Confirm that each person sees only their invited functions. Vowframes keeps responses per function while letting a guest answer once across the events on their invitation, but the save-the-date itself does not need to ask for an RSVP unless the family is genuinely ready to collect one.
Finally, send the wording to one relative without explanation. They should be able to tell you whose wedding it is, which dates to hold, where it takes place and whether they are looking at a final invitation or an early announcement. If they infer an invitation to every function, narrow the message before it reaches the family groups.
